Iron Ridge Commercial Roofing was built on a different premise: inspect thoroughly, document everything with photos, and recommend what the roof actually needs. Sometimes that’s a repair. The Owner
James Byler · Owner
James Byler has been in construction for about ten years. He started out building pole barns for another company, post-frame structures with steel roofs, the everyday working buildings you see on every back road in Schoharie County. A few years ago he went out on his own and took on garages, decks, additions, and whatever else came through the door.
Iron Ridge Commercial Roofing grew out of that work. After a decade of putting steel roofs on buildings, he had watched enough of them age to understand what happens fifteen and twenty years in, and to know that most of those roofs do not need to come off. They need to be sealed, coated, and given another stretch of life. He trained on commercial roof restoration systems and started Iron Ridge to do exactly that.
He still runs the company himself and still climbs the ladder himself. When you call Iron Ridge, you get the owner. When the estimate arrives, it comes from the man who stood on the roof, not from a salesman working off somebody else’s notes.

The Work
We restore, repair, and replace flat and metal commercial roofs. Our systems include elastomeric roof coatings, fabric-reinforced membranes, metal roof restoration, PVC and TPO single-ply membranes, and spray polyurethane foam, all available as energy-saving cool roof systems with renewable warranties up to 18 years (up to 25 years on single-ply membranes).
James is trained and certified in the systems he installs, and he is the one who installs them. That matters: manufacturer warranties depend on correct installation, and restoration systems in particular are only as good as the preparation and detail work underneath the coating.
